One of the harshest realities of #freelancing is no sick pay. 😥

This can be a deal breaker for a lot of people, and really worth considering before you leap into freelance life.

I recently had to have unexpected surgery, with an expected recovery time of 2-3 months. 😥

This has already meant a week off work, and will mean an unpredictable work pattern for the next few weeks.

Here’s how I recommend being prepared for the unexpected:
➡️ Have a savings pot especially for sick pay
➡️ Look into income protection insurance
➡️ Talk to your clients. You may be able to find the right balance to allow you to do some work when you can.
➡️ Listen to your body, it’s important to allow yourself time to recover.
